Oil painting by Becky Kim
This painting is for people who are weary and burdened for whatever reason.
Life can be challenge.
But instead of getting depressed with despair,
I would like to express the bright side of our life through the painting.
Having hope and faith, we can stay calm, learn to be patient, and grow into maturity.
I used my daughter Whasun (I call her Sunni)'s figure for this painting.
I took lots of photos while she was visiting me so I could her figure for my painting.
My daughter had very long hair and was wearing orange striped dress.
I changed the color of the dress to blue to make the color contrast.
When I do this king of figurative painting I dont make the face precisely.
In general, I wanted to keep the warmth in this painting.
Waiting in Hope is one of the most essential attitudes in spiritual life I believe.
Thanks for visiting!
